The FOGcon Convention Committee would like to clarify our position on admitting and banning individuals.
First, our past decisions to admit any individual do not constitute a rebuke or criticism of any other convention’s decision in that regard. In our view, every convention has the right to make its own decisions regarding what violates its code of conduct and what constitutes a threat to the safety of its members.
Second, our past decisions do not imply any endorsement or approval of an individual person's behavior nor a commitment to admit them in the future.
Third, in reviewing our safety and harassment policies, we have decided that we need to more strongly take into account an individual’s behavior outside convention spaces when making such decisions, and we will be amending our policies accordingly.
