Kids and FOGcon

We love having kids at FOGcon. Not only do they raise the already high adorableness factor of the con, they generally bring their parents along, and some of our favorite people are parents. Also, we like to get the next generation of SFF fandom involved as early as possible.

FOGcon is deeply committed to availability and accessibility, and we know that childcare is one of many aspects of these issues. We have been working since FOGcon 1 on how to provide childcare, given our budgetary constraints and the available pool of volunteers, and we haven't yet been able to figure it out. We very much hope to include some form of childcare services in future conventions. If you have any ideas of how we can do this sooner, or you would like to help make it happen, we want to hear from you. Until we come up with a solution, however, all we can say is "Sorry!" Let us know if we can help with individual problems that arise from this systemic issue.

We've also set up a Google list: FOGconKids. You'll need to apply for membership; we didn't want the list open to all and sundry. We repeat: FOGCON itself is not setting up child care. All your arrangements are on your own legal responsibility.
