FOGcon is usually held at the beautiful Walnut Creek Marriott in the San Francisco Bay Area. (For 2021 and 2022, we'll be on Zoom, and will not have a hotel convention.)

Getting to the Walnut Creek Marriott

From San Francisco International Airport via BART (the fare is $9.75 each way):
From your terminal take the free AirTrain to the BART Station in the International Terminal.
Take the Pittsburg/Bay Point train.
Exit at the Walnut Creek BART Station.
If you need the hotel shuttle to pick you up at the Walnut Creek BART station and bring you to the hotel, call the Bell Desk when you arrive at 925-934-2000.

From Oakland International Airport via BART:
Take the Airport Shuttle Train to the Coliseum BART station ($6, which it's useful to have in exact change).
At the Coliseum Station take the Richmond train. (Fare is $3.85.)
Transfer (no need to show ticket) at the 19th Street station to the Pittsburg/Bay Point train.
Exit at the Walnut Creek BART Station.
If you need the hotel shuttle to pick you up at the Walnut Creek BART station and bring you to the hotel, call the Bell Desk when you arrive at 925-934-2000.

Walking from the Walnut Creek BART to the Marriott:
Cut North through the BART lot toward Pringle, and take Riviera north (Riviera is a small side street and will help keep you out of the heavier traffic on California and Main). Turn right on Parkside and you'll see the Marriott on your left before you reach Main St.
From the North Bay by Road:
Take 101 S to 580 E (exit 451B).
Follow signs for I580/Richmond Bridge/Oakland and merge onto 580 E.
NOTE: 80W and 580E are the same piece of pavement. This can be confusing if you don't know to expect it. Just stick with 580 to 24E.
Take exit 19B to CA24E toward Walnut Creek, and exit 24 E to 680 N.
Take exit 47 / North Main Street toward Walnut Creek.
Merge onto Penniman Way.
Turn left on N. Main St.
Take the first right onto Parkside Dr.
Turn right into the Marriott's parking lot.
From the South Bay by Road:
From the South Bay, whether you take 680 all the way or start with 880 depends on what works best for you.
If you start from 880:
Take 880 N to 980 E to 24; continue on 24E to the 680.
Take 680 North to exit 47/N. Main St. toward Walnut Creek.
Merge onto Penniman Way.
Turn left onto N Main St.
Take the 1st right onto Parkside Dr.
Turn right into the Marriott's parking lot.
If you take 680 north:
Take exit 47 for N Main St. toward Walnut Creek.
Merge onto Penniman Way.
Turn left onto N Main St.
Take the 1st right onto Parkside Dr.
Turn right into the Marriott's parking lot.
From the Peninsula by Road:
Cross the bay on 84, 92, or 80.
From 84 or 92, take 880 north to 980 east to 24; from 80, take 580 east to 24.
Take CA-24 E toward Walnut Creek to I-680 N/Sacramento/Concord.
Take exit 47 for N Main St toward Walnut Creek.
Merge onto Penniman Way.
Turn left onto N Main St.
Take the 1st right onto Parkside Dr.
Turn right into the Marriott's parking lot.
From Sacramento by Road:
Take 80 W to exit 40 for 680/40 toward Benicia/San Jose
Take 680 S to exit 47 for N. Main St. toward Walnut Creek.
Follow signs for North Main St. South.
Turn right onto Parkside Dr.
Turn right into the Marriott's parking lot.
From Stockton by Road:
Take 5S to 205W (signs for San Francisco/Interstate 205/Interstate 580).
Continue onto 580W.
Take exit 44B toward Sacramento.
Merge onto 680 N.
Take exit 47 for N Main St toward Walnut Creek.
Merge onto Penniman Way.
Turn left onto N Main St.
Take the 1st right onto Parkside Dr.
Turn right into the Marriott's parking lot.
