FOGcon 6 Programming and Reading Sign-ups Open

Programming Voting and Sign-ups Are Open!

This year's theme is Transformations, and we have many transformative ideas to choose from.

FOGcon's programming depends on you. Your input is what keeps our programming interesting, and your participation is what keeps it engaging.  Please tell us what panels you’re interested in attending, and what panels you’d like to be on or moderate.

Here's how it works:

  1. Log in to your account at db.fogcon.org
  2. Go to Program and choose "Sign Up for Programming"
  3. You will be taken to the sign-up summary page, where you can see the total available program items and how many you have voted on.
  4. Click on the links to indicate your interest – you can click on the total number of items (the first line) or the items you have not yet marked (the second line).
  5. For each item you will see the title, the description, and two lines where you can indicate if you’re interested in being on the panel, whether you’d be willing to moderate the panel, and whether or not you’d be interested in attending the panel.
  6. On the first line, choose one:

If you really, really want to be on the panel, choose “Please!” on the first line.
If you’d like to be on the panel, choose “Interested” on the first line.
If you’re willing to be on the panel, choose “OK” on the first line.
If you want to actively indicate that you’d rather not be on the panel, choose “Not Interested” on the first line.

7. On the second line, choose one or both:

If you’re willing to moderate the panel, please check “I would like to moderate this panel” on the second line.
If you’d like to see this panel happen and would be interested in attending it, please check “I would like to attend this panel” on the second line.
If you have particular experience, background, or skill that you’d like us to know about, or some other reason you particularly want to be on or moderate this panel, please explain it in the text box.

8. When you’re done (or done for now), scroll down and click on “submit.” It’s a small button toward the left hand side at the bottom of the list of proposed programming items.

You can respond to as many or as few suggestions as you like, and you can always come back and respond to more the next time you log in.

Please make sure you fill in your profile with when you will be arriving and departing and any non-programming conflicts you might have during the con. This makes scheduling programming and readings much easier for our dedicated team of volunteers.

But wait, there's MORE!

Authors can also request a reading slot for FOGcon. To do this:

  1. Log in to your account at db.fogcon.org
  2. Go to Program and choose Readings.
  3. Select the checkbox next to “I want to do a reading” and click Request a reading slot.

Sign-ups and voting for programming and readings close at midnight PST on January 29, so get your selections in before then!
