FOCUS ON PROGRAMMING: Great Reads Panel

As we get closer to FOGcon, this blog will highlight various programming items that may interest you. In particular, we'd like to let you know about panels discussing specific books so you have time to read them before the con.

The Great Reads panel will be held in Salon C on Saturday, March 9, 10:30–11:45 am.

This idea is shamelessly stolen from Jo Walton's Farthing Party. Four panelists all agree to read the same book and discuss their ideas and reactions. The panel will be discussing *Slow River* by Nicola Griffith.

Slow River won the Nebula award, the Lambda Literary Award, and the Spectrum Award. It's a beautifully written, adventurous book about technology and family, crime and law, and in the end about becoming oneself.
